EAT-MAN The Over Order marks the return of Akihito Yoshitomi’s cult manga franchise with an entirely new anime project. Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures officially unveiled the production on September 10, 2026, alongside a first teaser video and visual. Masashi Ebara will once again voice Bolt Crank, reprising the role he previously played in the two anime adaptations released during the late 1990s.

The series is being directed by Shunji Ōga at Studio Cab, while Yoshitomi himself is taking an active role in the production by handling the scripts and original designs. Satoshi Hirayama is responsible for adapting the character designs for animation. The announcement follows an initial teaser published on September 4, which had already hinted that a new Eat-Man project was in development.

Originally serialized between 1996 and 2002, Eat-Man follows Bolt Crank, a mysterious traveler with the extraordinary ability to consume virtually any object before recreating it through his right hand. The manga previously inspired two television anime adaptations in 1997 and 1998, helping establish the franchise among fans of unconventional science-fiction stories.

Yoshitomi later returned to the universe with Eat-Man The Main Dish, which began serialization in Monthly Shonen Sirius in May 2014 and concluded in 2019 after six volumes. With The Over Order, the franchise is now preparing for a new animated chapter more than two decades after its previous anime appearances.
