The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter Anime Set for 2027

The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter is officially heading to television in 2027, bringing Ichi Yukishiro’s fantasy manga to the anime format. The adaptation will be produced by Doga Kobo, with Kuniyasu Nishina serving as director. Alongside the confirmation of its broadcast year, the production team released the anime’s first main promotional video and a new key visual, offering an early look at the atmosphere and characters of the upcoming series. A specific premiere date has not yet been announced.

The first members of the voice cast have also been confirmed. Kana Hanazawa will portray Eve, the young girl at the center of the story, while veteran voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue will play Nem, the Bone Dragon who becomes closely connected to her fate. Yuka Yamada is handling series composition, Tomoya Atsumi is responsible for character design, and the background artwork is being created by KUSANAGI together with Daiki Kuribayashi and Yuki Hatakeyama.

The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter follows Eve, a five-year-old child who survives alone in the dangerous Forest of Scraps before encountering an elderly dragon approaching the end of his life. The creature decides to take her in and raise her as his daughter, but dies after spending five years by her side. Their story does not end there, however, as the dragon eventually returns in skeletal form and discovers that Eve possesses remarkable magical powers. The pair then embark on a new journey while attempting to help Eve better control her abilities.

Ichi Yukishiro’s manga began serialization on MAGCOMI in September 2020 before moving to Monthly Comic Garden in January 2022. Six collected volumes have been released in Japan so far. International readers can also access an official English digital edition through J-Novel Club. With Doga Kobo handling the animation and an established cast already attached to the project, further information regarding the 2027 broadcast schedule and additional characters is expected closer to the premiere.
