Set against the backdrop of a war-torn kingdom, the story follows Kate, a princess who possesses mysterious vampiric abilities. Hoping to secure the future of her homeland, she agrees to a politically arranged marriage with Luka, the kingdom's most powerful ruler. However, their wedding night takes an unexpected turn when the scent of Luka's blood awakens Kate's uncontrollable instincts. What begins as a strategic alliance soon develops into a dangerous relationship in which duty, desire and genuine affection become increasingly difficult to distinguish.
The television adaptation will be directed by Mariko Iwazaki, with animation handled by IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio. Original manga writer Shiki will personally oversee the screenplay, ensuring a direct connection between the source material and its animated interpretation. Production responsibilities have been assigned to en-dolphin, while Taeko Miura will supervise sound direction at RD. The soundtrack will be composed by Kujira Yumemi, known for work on As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill and Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers. Kazuya Takahashi will oversee production.
The original manga has already established a presence across several Japanese digital publishing platforms, including honto. Its fourth collected volume and 29th chapter were released in October 2026, expanding the story ahead of its television debut. Although the anime has been confirmed for 2027, a precise premiere date, voice cast and additional broadcasting details have yet to be announced.
