That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is preparing a packed 2027 for fans of the franchise. The production team has confirmed that Season 4 of the main anime will resume with its third cours in July 2027. Before Rimuru Tempest makes his return, viewers will also get a brand-new television adaptation of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman's Revenge, which is scheduled to premiere in April 2027.
The upcoming spinoff will put Clayman back in the spotlight, with Takehito Koyasu once again voicing the character. The anime is being produced by 8-Bit, with Kentarō Sugimoto serving as director. Yūji Haibara is overseeing the series scripts, while Asumi Hashimoto and Hideki Sakai are handling the character designs. The project is based on Wataru Kajika's manga, which began publication in April 2022 and explores an alternate continuation centered on the former Demon Lord after the events of Walpurgis.
Meanwhile, the fourth season of the main series began airing in Japan on April 3, 2026, with Miho Okasaki returning as Rimuru. Season 4 is planned as an especially ambitious run consisting of five cours in total, with its opening two cours airing consecutively. The third section will therefore begin in July 2027, although details regarding the remaining parts have yet to be fully announced. Crunchyroll continues to stream the anime internationally as new episodes air in Japan.
The franchise originates from Fuse's light novel series, first serialized online in 2013 before receiving a print edition in 2014. The main novels concluded with Volume 23 in November 2025, but the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime continues to expand through anime seasons, spinoffs, films and side stories. With both Rimuru's main adventure and Clayman's new perspective arriving in 2027, the franchise is set to maintain a strong presence on television throughout the year.
