The fantasy anime Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World is officially moving forward with Season 3. The announcement took place on October 25, 2026, during the Fantasia Bunko Grand Thanksgiving Festival 2026 Online, where a brand-new promotional illustration was unveiled. Created by returning character designer Kaori Yoshikawa, the visual marks the next chapter of the anime adaptation based on the light novel series written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe. Although production has been confirmed, an official premiere date has not yet been disclosed.

The upcoming season will reunite viewers with the familiar voices behind its central characters. Yūsuke Kobayashi will reprise his role as Iska, alongside Sora Amamiya as Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX. The returning cast also includes Nao Shiraki as Mismis Klass, Kaori Ishihara as Nene Alkastone, Shunichi Toki as Jhin Syulargun, Yumiri Hanamori as Rin Vispose, and Azumi Waki as Sisbell Lou Nebulis IX. Behind the scenes, Yuki Inaba will once again direct the series at Studio Palette and SILVER LINK., while also overseeing the scripts. Kaori Yoshikawa will continue handling character designs, maintaining visual continuity with the previous season.

The confirmation follows a particularly complicated broadcast history for the anime's second season. Originally scheduled for 2023, the sequel was postponed until July 2024, when its first four episodes finally premiered. However, the production encountered further difficulties, leading to an indefinite suspension of new episodes beginning with Episode 5 in August 2024. The interruption was intended to preserve the quality of the production. Broadcasting eventually restarted from Episode 1 in April 2025, approximately eight months after the suspension. The first season originally debuted in October 2020 and was distributed internationally through Funimation, while Crunchyroll handled the second season, including its English dubbed version.

At the heart of Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World is a conflict between two opposing powers: a technologically advanced Empire and the magical kingdom of Nebulis. Their prolonged war takes an unexpected turn when Iska, an exceptionally talented imperial swordsman, encounters Aliceliese, a princess from the rival nation. Despite their opposing allegiances, the two develop a connection that challenges the divisions separating their worlds. The original novels have been published by Kadokawa since May 2017 and currently span 16 volumes. A manga adaptation illustrated by Okama began serialization in May 2018 and concluded with seven volumes, while the spin-off novel series Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World: Secret File has reached three volumes. Yen Press publishes both the main novels and their manga adaptation in English.
