A new supernatural comedy is making its way to television, as Hiragi-san's House of Vampires has officially been confirmed for an anime adaptation. Based on the manga created by Miki Yoshikawa, best known for A Couple of Cuckoos, the upcoming series will be produced under the UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS label. The announcement was accompanied by the launch of an official website and the release of a promotional visual offering an early look at the project. A premiere date, voice cast, and additional production details have not yet been disclosed.
The story introduces Shota Minamoto, a young orphan who has spent much of his childhood living in a residential care facility. His circumstances take an unexpected turn when he is welcomed into a wealthy household residing in an impressive traditional Japanese mansion. Although his new family initially appears warm and welcoming, Shota soon finds himself surrounded by an extraordinary secret involving vampires. What follows is an unconventional family comedy that combines romantic complications, supernatural encounters, and humorous situations with a darker twist.
Miki Yoshikawa originally explored the concept through a standalone manga chapter published in 2019 before developing it into a full serialization. The series officially began appearing in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in October 2021, gradually expanding its unusual blend of family relationships and vampire-themed comedy. Kodansha released the sixth collected volume in November 2025, marking another milestone for the ongoing manga.
International readers can discover Hiragi-san's House of Vampires through Kodansha's K MANGA platform, which distributes the series in English. With Yoshikawa already recognized for her work on A Couple of Cuckoos, this latest adaptation brings another of her romantic comedies to the anime landscape, this time introducing a supernatural dimension to the familiar themes of relationships, unexpected living arrangements, and family secrets.
