More than two decades after Ichigo Kurosaki made his television debut, BLEACH has officially reached the end of its anime journey. The final episode of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, from its fourth and concluding installment titled The Calamity, aired on October 27, 2026. Episode 50, titled "DEATH & STRAWBERRY," brings the long-running adaptation to a close, 22 years after the original series premiered in 2004. To commemorate this milestone, the production team unveiled two special videos celebrating the characters, battles, and memorable moments that have shaped the franchise.
The first commemorative release is a special ending sequence accompanying the final episode. Featuring the iconic track "Number One," the video combines memorable animation sequences with credits honoring the voice actors and production staff who contributed to the series. A second tribute, titled "THE STORIES VISUAL MOVIE," revisits Ichigo's evolution through his most significant confrontations. Its concluding illustration brings together 15 different versions of the protagonist, placing his adult appearance from ten years into the future at the center of the composition.
The celebrations will continue beyond the television finale with additional releases scheduled for March 24, 2027. The fourth BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Blu-ray and DVD collection will arrive alongside Original Soundtrack III, with newly revealed illustrations created by character designer Masashi Kudo. Additional artwork will also be included as a retailer purchase bonus. The anime's final installment was produced by PIERROT FILMS, with Tomohisa Taguchi serving as chief series director, Hikaru Murata as series director, and Shiro Sagisu handling the musical score.
The concluding storyline centers on the devastating confrontation between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies, with the survival of the Three Worlds hanging in the balance. Following Yhwach's advance into the Royal Palace and the death of the Soul King, Ichigo and his allies face an increasingly desperate struggle against the Quincy ruler and his forces. As the remaining fighters converge on the transformed Wahr Welt, the conflict approaches its ultimate resolution, bringing one of anime's most recognizable supernatural action sagas to its long-awaited conclusion.
