The comedy manga Null Meta is officially heading to television, with an anime adaptation scheduled to premiere sometime in 2027. The project will bring Kokamumo's four-panel series to the screen, introducing its unusual cast and offbeat everyday humor to a wider audience. Alongside the announcement, the production team revealed the first teaser visual and confirmed several key staff members who will be involved in the adaptation.

Kai Igarashi, whose credits include CYBERPUNK EDGERUNNERS 2, has been selected to direct the series. Tatsuya Takahashi will oversee series composition, while Shin Ogasawara is responsible for character design. Animation production will be handled by Soigne. These early staff announcements provide the first indication of the creative direction planned for the anime, although details regarding the voice cast, episode count and exact broadcast period have not yet been announced.

Null Meta is structured as a four-panel manga and focuses on the unpredictable daily experiences of four central characters. Rather than following a conventional storyline, the series builds its comedy around strange situations, character interactions and an unconventional interpretation of the slice-of-life formula.

The manga is currently serialized in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara MAX magazine. Six collected volumes have been released so far, giving the upcoming anime adaptation a substantial amount of existing material to draw from. Additional information about the 2027 television series, including its cast and premiere date, is expected to be revealed as production progresses.
