Attack on Titan is preparing for another major theatrical outing in Japan. Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow will return to selected cinemas on October 23, giving fans a new opportunity to experience the beginning of Hajime Isayama's iconic story on the big screen. A new official trailer has also been released to promote the event and highlight the film's return.

This new theatrical run will introduce the movie in several premium formats, including 4DX, ULTRA 4DX and, for the first time in the history of the franchise, ScreenX. The latter format expands the image onto the side walls of specially equipped theaters, creating a much wider field of view. For a series known for large-scale battles, vertical maneuvering equipment and spectacular Titan encounters, the format could offer a particularly immersive way to revisit its earliest confrontations.

Originally released in 2014, Crimson Bow and Arrow condenses the events covered by the first 13 episodes of the television anime. Its sequel, Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom, followed in 2015 and adapted the remaining major events from the first season. These compilation movies offered a more condensed alternative for viewers who wanted to experience the central storyline without watching the complete episodic version.

The franchise later continued this cinematic approach with several additional compilation films, culminating in Attack on Titan: The Last Attack in 2024. That production brought the anime's final confrontation to theaters and was later screened again in North America through Crunchyroll Anime Nights. With Crimson Bow and Arrow now returning to Japanese cinemas on October 23, the franchise is once again giving longtime fans and newcomers a chance to experience one of modern anime's most influential stories in a theatrical setting.
