Dragon Ball is preparing for a major return this October with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, a new enhanced version of the anime that revisits the arrival of the God of Destruction. The series will premiere in Japan on Fuji TV and its affiliated channels on October 11, 2026 at 11:15 p.m. JST. Amazon Prime Video and U-NEXT will begin streaming episodes in Japan only 30 minutes after their television broadcast. Netflix will also bring the anime to selected international markets from October 14, followed by its United States launch on October 17.

Fans attending New York Comic Con will have an opportunity to discover the project even earlier. The first episode is scheduled for an advance screening during the convention on October 8. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is not simply a standard rebroadcast of previously released material. The production introduces numerous newly animated and redrawn sequences, revised editing and a reconstructed narrative designed to deliver a more polished interpretation of this chapter of the Dragon Ball universe.

The story takes place several years after the defeat of Majin Buu, at a time when Earth is enjoying a rare period of peace. That tranquility is threatened by the awakening of Beerus, the immensely powerful God of Destruction. After learning about a Saiyan responsible for defeating Frieza, Beerus turns his attention toward Goku. His arrival places Earth and its fighters at the center of a confrontation capable of affecting far more than a single planet.

Akira Toriyama is credited for the original work, story and character designs, while Matsuto Seya handles composition and direction arrangement. Tadayoshi Yamamuro serves as animation character designer and general animation director, with Norihito Sumitomo returning for the music and Toei Animation overseeing animation production. The project represents another major addition to the Dragon Ball franchise, which has expanded from Toriyama's original manga into multiple anime series, movies, games and other productions enjoyed by audiences around the world.
