The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is back in the spotlight with a new trailer unveiled on November 20, 2025, confirming the return of the elven mage and her group of adventurers. The video also highlights the ending theme, “The Story of Us”, performed by Japanese singer milet, offering a glimpse of the emotional atmosphere that will accompany the upcoming episodes. The series will return on January 16, 2026, available exclusively on Crunchyroll, already making this date a key moment for anime fans.

This season is once again being produced by MADHOUSE, alongside a strong production team: Tomoya Kitagawa as director, Daiki Harashina as assistant director, and Keiichiro Saito, who was already involved in the first season, as supervisor. The adaptation is written by Tomohiro Suzuki, while the character design is handled by Takasemaru, Keisuke Kojima and Yuri Fujinaka. The music, composed by Evan Call, promises to reinforce the adventurous and melancholic atmosphere characteristic of the work.

Based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe (published in English by VIZ Media), the series follows Frieren, a thousand-year-old elf confronted with the passage of time and the fragility of human relationships. After defeating the Demon King alongside the hero Himmel, she realizes too late that she did not make enough effort to understand those who accompanied her. Her new quest thus becomes an introspective journey, marked by encounters and events intended to help her rediscover what she had neglected over the centuries.
