STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is adding another major piece to its upcoming Netflix launch, with Japanese band Kroi officially confirmed to perform the anime’s opening theme. Their new track, titled “SPIN,” will introduce viewers to the latest chapter of Hirohiko Araki’s long-running saga. The announcement also came with a brand-new illustration featuring characters from the series, created specifically to serve as the song’s jacket artwork.
Rather than relying on a conventional anime opening sound, Kroi approached “SPIN” with the atmosphere of classic Western cinema in mind. The band cited inspirations such as Ennio Morricone and The Ventures while blending those influences with funk, soul and hip-hop, genres that have played an important role in Kroi’s musical identity. The result is designed to reflect both the American setting of Steel Ball Run and the eccentric energy associated with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Netflix will begin streaming the second and third stages of STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure exclusively on September 25, 2026. New episodes are scheduled to arrive every Friday, with 11 episodes planned. Set in 1890, the story centers on Johnny Joestar, a former horse-racing prodigy left paralysed and without direction. His encounter with the mysterious Gyro Zeppeli changes everything, leading Johnny to enter the Steel Ball Run, a brutal 4,000-mile race across North America with a $50 million prize waiting at the finish line.
The anime is being produced by david production, with Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi serving as directors, Toshiyuki Kato as series director, Yasuko Kobayashi handling series composition and Yugo Kanno composing the music. Shogo Sakata voices Johnny Joestar alongside Yohei Azakami as Gyro Zeppeli, Kaito Ishikawa as Diego Brando, Rie Takahashi as Lucy Steel and Tomokazu Sugita as Funny Valentine. Earlier JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure seasons remain available across Crunchyroll and Netflix, while Stone Ocean can currently be streamed on Netflix.
