Kadokawa has shared fresh details about Sentenced to Be a Hero -Game of the GODDESS-, the upcoming smartphone game based on the Sentenced to Be a Hero franchise. A second teaser video and a new key visual were released on October 3, offering another look at the project ahead of its launch on Android and iOS. Development is being handled by VIC GAME STUDIOS, while Kadokawa is serving as publisher. A release date has not yet been announced.

The game will expand the universe with an original scenario supervised by light novel author Rocket Shokai. Several familiar characters from the anime will return with their original voice actors, including Yōhei Azakami as Xylo Forbartz, Mayu Iizuka as Teoritta, Shizuka Ishigami as Patausche Kivia and Shun Horie as Dotta Luzulas. The title will also introduce new characters created specifically for the game, including Noi Marjella, voiced by Miyu Tomita, and Lisabella, voiced by Fūka Izumi.

Sentenced to Be a Hero originally began as a light novel series on Kadokawa's Kakuyomu platform in October 2020, before receiving a physical release in September 2021 with illustrations by Mephisto. Its anime adaptation premiered in Japan on January 3, 2026 with an extended 60-minute first episode. The series was broadcast across 28 Japanese channels, while Crunchyroll streamed it internationally and also offered a same-day English dub.

The franchise is continuing to grow beyond its original novels and anime adaptation. A second season of the anime has already been confirmed, with Crunchyroll set to stream it internationally. Kadokawa is also running a character popularity poll from October 3 to November 3, with the final results scheduled to be revealed in March 2027. The upcoming mobile game therefore arrives as another major expansion of the Sentenced to Be a Hero universe.
