Season 2 followed in January 2025, airing on several Japanese television networks while simultaneously becoming available through Netflix and other streaming platforms.
My Happy Marriage originates from the light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, which began publication in January 2019. The story follows Miyo, a young woman raised in an abusive household who is arranged to marry Kiyoka, a military officer feared for his cold personality and failed engagements. Their initially difficult relationship gradually develops into an emotional journey centered on trust, healing and affection. The franchise also includes Rito Kohsaka's manga adaptation, which began in 2018, as well as a live action film released in Japan in March 2023. The movie opened at number one at the Japanese box office, selling approximately 479,700 tickets during its first three days.
