The next feature film in the HAIKYU!! franchise is beginning to take shape. Titled HAIKYU!! The Movie: VS Little Giant, the film has unveiled its first concept visual inspired by Haruichi Furudate’s original work. Scheduled for 2027, this new installment will feature one of the manga’s most eagerly anticipated matches: the showdown between Karasuno and Kamomedai, including a particularly symbolic face-off between Shoyo Hinata and Korai Hoshiumi.

After reaching the quarterfinals of the Spring Nationals tournament, Hinata and his teammates will have to face Kamomedai, a team led in particular by Hoshiumi. The latter shares the nickname “Little Giant,” referring to the short player who once inspired Hinata to fully pursue volleyball. The film will therefore adapt this major confrontation, often regarded as one of the key moments in the young Karasuno player’s athletic journey.
Meanwhile, a collaboration between the HAIKYU!! anime and the event Emut presents SV.LEAGUE ALL STAR GAMES 2026-27 HOKKAIDO has also been announced. Ayumu Murase, the Japanese voice of Shoyo Hinata, was present at the event. The collaboration will notably offer new audio recordings, character-dedicated photo areas, and a special meeting with characters in costume.
HAIKYU!! is adapted from Haruichi Furudate’s manga, which was published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The series follows Shoyo Hinata, a passionate volleyball player determined to make his mark despite his short stature. His rivalry with Tobio Kageyama, who later becomes his teammate at Karasuno High School, is one of the story’s main threads. All four seasons of the anime are currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
