Blizzard Entertainment is bringing Solo Leveling into the world of Overwatch with a new limited-time collaboration titled Overwatch x Shadow Monarch. Available from October 6 to October 26, 2026, the event introduces a collection of themed cosmetics inspired by the popular anime and webtoon franchise. Rather than simply recreating the original characters, Blizzard has matched several Overwatch heroes with figures from Solo Leveling whose fighting styles, personalities and visual identities fit naturally within the game's roster.
Genji takes center stage as Sung Jinwoo, reflecting the protagonist's transformation from one of the weakest Hunters into the feared commander of the Shadow Army. Reaper adopts the appearance of Igris, the iconic Blood-Red Commander and one of Jinwoo's most recognizable Shadow Soldiers. Anran receives a Cha Hae-In-inspired design, representing the powerful S-Rank Hunter, while Reinhardt is transformed into Iron, the former A-Rank Hunter who eventually joins Jinwoo's forces.
Lifeweaver completes the main lineup with a skin based on Choi Jong-In, the S-Rank Mage Hunter and Guild Master known for his mastery of fire-based magic. The selection allows Blizzard to combine Solo Leveling's darker fantasy aesthetic with the distinctive silhouettes and abilities of Overwatch's heroes, creating designs that remain recognizable within both franchises.
Blizzard is officially promoting the collaboration under the Shadow Monarch name, although its characters and visual references are directly inspired by Solo Leveling. Promotional material released for the event also features dedicated crossover artwork and a MegaBundle containing themed content. At the time of the announcement, Blizzard had not yet detailed individual skin pricing or confirmed whether every cosmetic would be available for separate purchase.
