The Remarried Empress is getting ready to make its live action debut, with Disney+ and Hulu unveiling a new main trailer and key visual ahead of the series premiere on November 4, 2026. Adapted from the hugely popular web novel and WEBTOON title, the upcoming drama brings its imperial world to the screen with a story mixing romance, political intrigue and personal rivalry. The newly released footage focuses on the four central characters, using their conversations and confrontations to establish the complex relationships that will drive the series.
At the center of the story is Navier, Empress of the Eastern Empire, whose seemingly perfect position collapses when her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, decides to replace her with his mistress, Rashta. Rather than accepting the situation, Navier chooses divorce and sets out to reclaim her position by becoming Empress of another kingdom. The trailer places particular emphasis on the growing tensions between Navier, played by Min-A Shin, Sovieshu, portrayed by Ji-Hoon Ju, Rashta, played by Se Young Lee, and Heinrey, portrayed by Jong Suk Lee. Their competing ambitions quickly transform an imperial romance into a broader political struggle.
Disney+ and Hulu will release the first four episodes on November 4, followed by two additional episodes every Wednesday until November 25. The complete season will consist of ten episodes. Suwon Cho is directing the adaptation, while Geena Yeoh and Choong-Yeol Hyun are handling the scripts.
The original webtoon has accumulated more than 2.9 billion views worldwide and has been translated into ten languages, building a particularly strong audience in Japan and other international markets. Its main serialization concluded in January after seven years, although new side stories are scheduled to arrive this fall. English-speaking readers can currently access The Remarried Empress through WEBTOON, while Ize Press is publishing a physical English edition.
