Netflix has released the main trailer for Take Charge of My Heart, a new Korean live action romantic comedy adapted from the web novel of the same name. The footage, unveiled on September 28, 2026, offers a closer look at the unusual relationship at the center of the series ahead of its worldwide Netflix premiere on October 9. The production stars Young-kwang Kim as Ho-rang Baek and Su-bin Chae as Bo-bae Na, two characters brought together by an extraordinary electrical connection.

Bo-bae is a drama writer who has been able to generate electricity since being struck by lightning during her childhood. Her unusual power has made romantic relationships particularly difficult, until she encounters Ho-rang, a wealthy third-generation chaebol executive equipped with an artificial heart whose battery is gradually running out. To Bo-bae's surprise, her electricity has absolutely no effect on him. Ho-rang, meanwhile, makes an equally important discovery: simply remaining close to Bo-bae can recharge the battery keeping his artificial heart functioning.

With another surgery still three months away, Ho-rang proposes an unusual agreement in which the pair must remain physically close enough for Bo-bae to regularly recharge his heart. She eventually accepts, seeing the situation as an opportunity to experience some of the romance she has been unable to enjoy in her own life while also gathering inspiration for a romance bucket list connected to her latest drama project. The trailer highlights the comedic and emotional consequences of their increasingly complicated arrangement.

Their unconventional partnership becomes even more unpredictable with the arrival of Eun-ho, a major celebrity who also happens to be Bo-bae's biggest fan. His involvement introduces a potential love triangle and adds another layer to the relationship developing between the two leads. The original story was written by Haebeon and serialized through Naver Series. An official English edition of the web novel has not been released at this time.
