The Witch Hat Atelier anime stood out at the 2026 Astra TV Awards by winning the award for Best Animated Series. Held on August 15 in Los Angeles, the ceremony honored the television adaptation of Kamome Shirahama’s manga over several major productions. The other nominated titles included Dandelion, MAO, Rooster Fighter, Sakamoto Days, and STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

The series was also represented in the voice acting categories. Anjali Kunapaneni was nominated for Best Lead Voice Performance for her English portrayal of Coco in Witch Hat Atelier. Patrick Seitz competed in the same category for his role as Keiji in Rooster Fighter. Joshua Waters, meanwhile, was among the nominees for Best Supporting Voice Performance for his portrayal of Qifrey in Witch Hat Atelier.

Airing since April 6 on Tokyo MX and several other Japanese channels, Witch Hat Atelier has continued its run with significant recognition in the United States. The anime already has a confirmed second season, further strengthening the franchise’s position among the period’s most closely followed adaptations.

The Astra Awards encompass several ceremonies dedicated to film, television, podcasts, and creative professions. Japanese animation has been taking on an increasingly prominent role there: Dragon Ball Daima notably won the award for Best Anime Series at the 2025 ceremony, while Aleks Le was recognized for his voice acting work in Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-. More recently, the first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film also received the honorary “Animation is Cinema” award at the Astra Film Awards.
