Warner Bros. Japan has just unveiled the first trailer, key visual and character visuals for the highly anticipated sequel, "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League", during its panel at Anime Expo 2024. This new CGI-animated Batman Ninja film promises to deliver another thrilling adventure with Batman, this time facing the formidable Yakuza League.

The film will see the return of Junpei Mizusaki, known for his work on the opening sequences of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders". Mizusaki, who is also the CEO and founder of Kamikaze Douga, will direct the film alongside Shinji Takagi, unit director for "Blood: The Last Vampire". The team behind the original "Batman Ninja" is therefore returning, including screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki and composer Yūgo Kanno, ensuring continuity in the film's artistic and narrative vision.

Kōichi Yamadera will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, much to the delight of fans. The original animated film "Batman Ninja", which debuted digitally and on home video in 2018, attracted significant attention when it aired on Toonami in October 2021. The story, which sees Batman transported to Japan's Warring States period to face feudal versions of his classic villains, also inspired a manga adaptation by Masato Hisa and a stage play in 2021. The upcoming sequel is expected to expand this unique combination of historical and superhero elements, bringing a fresh and exciting chapter to the Batman Ninja saga.
