Coffee Stain Studios has unveiled Core Values, a major new expansion for Satisfactory that will send players beneath the surface of MASSAGE-2(A-B)b. Rather than simply adding more machines to the existing sandbox, the DLC introduces an entirely new underground layer filled with cavernous environments, additional resources, unfamiliar creatures and a separate storyline. Core Values is currently in development, with no release date confirmed yet, but the studio plans to launch the expansion simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The underground adventure becomes accessible after players reach Tier 3 of HUB research and construct the Space Elevator. From that point, Pioneers will be able to alternate freely between the main campaign and the expansion's storyline. Progressing deeper into the planet will reveal new flora, fauna, hostile lifeforms and alien anomalies, while the environment itself is expected to play a much larger role in how factories are designed. Coffee Stain is even teasing a friendly feline among the inhabitants waiting below the surface.

Production will naturally remain at the heart of Core Values, but operating underground introduces a different set of constraints. New buildings, equipment and specialized extraction tools will allow players to exploit resources found within the rocky terrain, while additional transportation and manufacturing options will expand the possibilities for automated production lines. Limited space and naturally formed caves will also force players to rethink factory layouts instead of relying on the enormous open areas available above ground.

Coffee Stain Studios is keeping several features secret until the DLC moves closer to release, suggesting that more surprises are still planned. Players will eventually be able to travel easily between their surface installations and their subterranean factory networks, creating a much larger industrial ecosystem across the planet. Meanwhile, development of the expansion will not stop support for the original game, as Satisfactory is expected to continue receiving regular updates on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
