Nintendo is giving retro gaming fans three more reasons to revisit its Game Boy Advance catalog. On October 14, 2026, the company added Monster Rancher Advance, Metal Slug Advance and Kururin Paradise to the Game Boy Advance section of Nintendo Classics. The games are available through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, including on Nintendo Switch 2. The update is particularly significant for Kururin Paradise, which is officially reaching Western players for the first time after spending more than two decades as a Japan-exclusive release.

Developed by Eighting and published by Nintendo, Kururin Paradise originally arrived on the Game Boy Advance in Japan in December 2002. The game serves as a follow-up to Kuru Kuru Kururin, the unusual puzzle-action title built around navigating increasingly complex environments with a constantly rotating bar. Its predecessor launched in Japan and Europe in 2001 but initially skipped North America. Western accessibility gradually improved years later, with Kuru Kuru Kururin appearing on the Wii U Virtual Console in North America in 2016 before joining Nintendo's Game Boy Advance Classics library in 2023.

The update also brings Monster Rancher Advance back into the spotlight. Known as Monster Farm Advance in Japan, the title debuted on Game Boy Advance in 2001, followed by Monster Rancher Advance 2 in 2002. The wider Monster Rancher franchise dates back to the original PlayStation game released in 1997 and revolves around raising, training and competing with monsters whose development is heavily influenced by player choices. Earlier entries became especially recognizable for their unusual monster-generation systems based on physical discs. The popularity of the franchise also led to a 73-episode anime television series broadcast between 1999 and 2001.

Completing the new lineup is SNK's Metal Slug Advance, originally released for Game Boy Advance in 2004. The handheld entry adapts the franchise's trademark run-and-gun action to Nintendo's portable hardware while maintaining its military-themed presentation and fast-paced combat. Its return is also timely, as Metal Slug Advance is set to be included in the upcoming METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION. The compilation is currently scheduled for 2027 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, giving fans another opportunity to revisit the portable installment alongside the broader series.
