A new report suggests that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 could arrive much sooner than many players expected. According to information attributed to four industry sources familiar with Rockstar Games' plans, the studio is currently targeting the first quarter of 2027 for the PC release. If this schedule is maintained, PC players could gain access to GTA 6 by the end of March 2027, only a few months after the game's planned console debut.

Rockstar Games currently intends to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The company has not yet officially announced a PC version or provided any launch window for the platform. The reported early 2027 release therefore remains unofficial, and Rockstar has so far offered no public confirmation regarding the information.

Such a release schedule would represent a major change compared with the rollout of Grand Theft Auto V. GTA V originally reached consoles well before its PC edition, with computer players waiting more than 18 months before receiving their own version. A Q1 2027 launch for GTA 6 would reduce that gap to only a few months and could influence purchasing decisions among players who own both a gaming PC and a current generation console.

Questions also remain regarding Rockstar's plans for the next version of GTA Online. It is currently unknown whether the multiplayer experience will launch alongside GTA 6, arrive separately, or follow a different release strategy across console and PC. With Rockstar remaining silent on the PC edition and online component, the reported Q1 2027 window should currently be treated as an industry claim rather than a confirmed release date.
