Cyberpunk 2077 has received another substantial content drop with the release of Update 2.5, proving that CD Projekt RED is not quite finished with Night City. Although active development on the RPG was officially considered complete years ago, the studio has continued to deliver occasional patches packed with features, technical upgrades and new activities. This latest release is considerably larger than a routine maintenance update and arrives alongside Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, bringing several crossover elements inspired by the anime while expanding customization and gameplay options.
One of the headline additions is Clampdown, a new side quest taking place before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Completing the mission allows players to obtain a five-piece equipment set inspired by King, while the newly introduced HKGN 102.0 FM radio station features music associated with the Edgerunners universe. Night City has also received five new clothing collections, additional hairstyles for V and expanded cyberware customization. Players can now visit special Glamdocs to personalize the appearance and colors of Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System. Combat also gains a major new option through the Double Trouble perk, which enables dual wielding of Power Pistols and Revolvers.
Exploration receives fresh content as well. The Welcome to Paradise side quest sends players across Night City while Richard Night narrates a guided tour connected to a new mystery. Twelve Minor Arcana Tarot Cards have also been scattered throughout the city, extending the Fool on the Hill storyline and offering a special reward for players who collect the complete set. Photo Mode has been expanded with additional poses and visual frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game.
Update 2.5 also introduces cross-platform mod support through mod.io, allowing selected community creations to be discovered and installed directly from the game on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. On the technical side, CD Projekt RED has added DLSS 4.5 support, MetalFX Frame Interpolation, additional AMD FSR options, console FOV controls, HDR improvements and performance optimizations. Save management has also been redesigned to organize files by individual playthroughs, while numerous quest, interface and platform-specific bugs have been addressed.
