Rockstar Games has confirmed that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will open on June 25, an announcement that has reignited the immense anticipation surrounding the next installment in one of the most influential franchises in video game history. After several delays, the title is now scheduled for release on November 19, more than thirteen years after the launch of GTA V, a true global phenomenon that has sold more than 200 million copies.

The arrival of GTA VI is already being considered a major event for the entire industry. The expected commercial impact is so significant that several competing publishers have reportedly preferred to avoid the same launch window, moving certain games up to September and October. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, is also benefiting directly from this enthusiasm, with its stock recording a notable rise following the announcement.

Since its debut in 1997, the Grand Theft Auto series has established itself as a benchmark for open-world games. Its blend of action, freedom, crime-focused storytelling and urban exploration has left a deep mark on several generations of players. Despite recurring criticism of its depiction of violence, the franchise remains one of the most popular in the world, with nearly 455 million copies sold in total.

For this new installment, Rockstar will take players to a universe inspired by Miami and Florida, featuring a pastel-colored art direction and two main protagonists: Jason and Lucia. Although GTA VI’s official price has not yet been revealed, Take-Two says it wants to offer value that players consider reasonable. A highly anticipated statement, as the game is already shaping up to be one of the decade’s most closely watched launches.
