Hello Games has just deployed update 6.20 for No Man’s Sky, titled “Remnant”, with a clear focus: turning exploration into a massive interstellar cleanup operation. The update introduces a new “gravity gun” through the Gravitino Coil accessory for the Multi-Tool, capable of magnetizing, repelling, carrying and propelling physical objects. The idea is not only to have fun with physics—artifacts, base constructions and resources—but also to make collecting more dynamic, particularly on planets focused on salvage and scrap.
This approach extends to the Colossus Exocraft, which becomes the king of the convoy thanks to a customization overhaul: cabins with distinct cockpits, chassis, mobility parts—super-elastic wheels, tracks and off-road equipment—paint finishes, and specialized modules. A tilting flatbed has been added for transporting large volumes, along with an Excavation Blade for demolishing obstacles while gathering a few resources, and even a furnace module for disposing of waste on the move. For added convenience, the Cyclops Scope is now available through the driver’s Analysis Visor, allowing players to scan fauna, flora, minerals and mission objectives without leaving their seat.
At the heart of “Remnant” is also the appearance of industrial waste—sometimes volatile, including toxic, radioactive and explosive materials—scattered in piles and heaps, to be transported to the new Waste Processing Plants for pollution cleanup, recycling, material recovery and rewards. A time-limited community expedition encourages players to cross a single desert world and “clean it up” in road-trip style, with cosmetics—including the “Heirloom” exosuit armor, an asymmetrical cabin and a camouflage pattern—and even Mechanical Legs reminiscent of a walking vehicle. Finally, Hello Games is adding player titles, the ability to name outfits and configurations, cloud improvements and Twitch Drops, while announcing a notable bonus: corvettes are coming to Nintendo Switch, a first for the platform.
