The game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive, continues to surprise the video game industry. Since its worldwide release at the beginning of the year, it has surpassed the impressive milestone of 5 million copies sold. This success follows a remarkable launch, marked by more than 3.3 million sales during its first 33 days. Creative director Guillaume Broche expressed his gratitude by highlighting the players’ attachment to the game, particularly through fan creations, cosplays and other tributes shared at specialist events.
To thank this community, the studios are planning major free additional content. This will include a new area to explore, featuring new enemies and boss battles designed for the most advanced players. Expedition members will also receive new costumes, while the game will gain additional localizations, bringing the total to 19 available languages. The goal is to offer an enriched and even more accessible experience around the world.
At the same time, the soundtrack composed by Lorien Testard is enjoying an impressive run. It has accumulated more than 333 million streams on streaming platforms and topped the charts for more than ten weeks on the Billboard Classical & Classical Crossover Album, while reaching the number-one spot on iTunes in nine countries, including France. Available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is thus confirming its status as a cultural and artistic phenomenon, combining aesthetics, depth and international recognition.
