Six months after its historic launch on Steam, Palworld is preparing to expand its influence across various areas of entertainment. While the Pocketpair team continues to roll out updates for its open-world survival game, CEO Takuro Mizobe has strategically partnered with Sony Music Entertainment Japan and its subsidiary Aniplex to create Palworld Entertainment. This joint venture aims to accelerate the brand's growth and diversification.

To begin with, Aniplex's online store will soon offer a range of Palworld products, with more details to come at Bilibili World 2024 in Shanghai, which will open its doors on Friday, July 12, 2024. Palworld Entertainment's mission is to develop and expand new activities related to the game, although specific plans remain confidential. The choice of partners hints at potential projects in animation and perhaps collectible card games featuring Palworld's monsters. The joint venture's official website is now online.

Since its early-access release, Palworld attracted an incredible 25 million players during its first month, including 15 million purchases on Steam. Currently available on PC and Xbox, the game is also targeting new platforms. Its popularity recently surged with the release of its first major free update, Sakurajima. On June 30, the game reached a peak of 143,369 concurrent players on Steam, its highest since March 10. On January 27, Palworld made history with a peak of 2.1 million players logged in simultaneously, just behind PUBG's record of 3.2 million in January 2018.
