The One Piece anime has just announced a lengthy historic hiatus until April 2025! Toei Animation has chosen to suspend the broadcast to focus more closely on the current arc, the Egghead Arc. The series, usually broadcast weekly, will not return until next April. This interruption will allow the animators to recover after an intensive production schedule. Nevertheless, Toei plans to broadcast a special episode celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary, entitled “One Piece Fan Letter Special.”

In addition to this anniversary episode, a remastered version of the Fish-Man Island arc will also be broadcast, giving fans new content to enjoy during the hiatus. This arc, which features new aquatic antagonists, is one of the series’ first major stories. Toei Animation has shared previously unseen images from this updated version, arousing viewers’ curiosity.

As for the manga, no hiatus is planned. Eiichiro Oda continues to work on the final saga with weekly chapters, following the Straw Hats’ adventures after their battle on Future Island. The anime’s return promises to be a major event, as the Egghead Arc is crucial to the development of the story.
