The publisher Shueisha has announced that the manga Kowloon Generic Romance by Jun Mayuzuki will be adapted into an anime series and a live-action film, both scheduled for 2025. A joint website has been created for these projects, featuring a teaser revealing the main cast. In the anime, Haruka Shiraishi plays real estate agent Reiko Kujirai, while Tomokazu Sugita plays her colleague, Hajime Kudō.

In the film adaptation, Riho Yoshioka plays Reiko Kujirai, and Kōshi Mizukami plays Hajima Kudō. The story takes place in the dystopian city of Kowloon, where the past, present and future intertwine, with a plot centered on the hidden emotions and ordinary lives of its residents.

The manga, which began in 2019 in the magazine Weekly Young Jump, has already released nine volumes, with a tenth scheduled for October 2023. Mayuzuki's previous work, After the Rain, also received both an anime and a film adaptation, highlighting the author's success in both formats.
