Casualties: Unknown is preparing to bring its unforgiving survival experience to Steam on November 9. Developed around a highly detailed injury and survival system, the game has already attracted significant attention ahead of its full release. Its playable demo, available since April, has consistently ranked among Steam's ten most-played demos, attracting more than 500,000 players while generating approximately 360,000 wishlists.

The game places players among thousands of test subjects dispatched beneath the surface of an alien world to recover lost cargo. Surviving the expedition requires much more than simply avoiding enemies. Casualties: Unknown simulates individual limbs and the cardiovascular system, meaning even a seemingly minor injury can develop into a serious threat. Cuts continue bleeding until properly treated, contaminated wounds can become infected, and excessive blood loss can cause the character to lose consciousness. Previous failed subjects scattered throughout the underground environment serve as a reminder of how quickly an expedition can end.

The final release will substantially expand upon the content available in the demo. Players will be able to explore ten underground layers, twice as many as the current trial version, while choosing between three playable characters with different statistics and approaches to survival. Losing a limb will not necessarily end an expedition either, as three different levels of prosthetic replacements will be available. Crafting mechanics, character traits and more than 300 obtainable items will further expand the game's progression and survival possibilities.

Players will also be able to adjust loot availability and danger levels, offering greater control over the difficulty of each expedition. With more than half a million people having already entered its hostile caves through the demo, Casualties: Unknown will attempt to turn that early momentum into a successful Steam launch when the complete version arrives on November 9.
