Casablanca is preparing to welcome a major figure in Japanese anime music. Hiroki Takahashi will perform at Casablanca’s Eden Club on May 9, 2026, for an event that is already shaping up to be a highlight for fans of Japanese pop culture and, above all, fans of Dragon Ball.

Hiroki Takahashi’s name remains inseparable from the musical DNA of the saga created by Akira Toriyama. He began his career in 1986 with “Makafushigi Adventure!”, the very first opening theme of the Dragon Ball anime. His career also includes participation in other tracks connected to the franchise, notably “Mezase Tenkaichi”, “Aoki Tabibitotachi” and “Dragon Ball Densetsu”, the latter associated with the film Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure.

It is precisely this legacy that gives the Casablanca concert particular significance. Hiroki Takahashi is widely recognized as the voice behind the series’ first opening theme, a song that has become, over the decades, one of the franchise’s most recognizable musical signatures. This song changed the course of his career. For many fans, Makafushigi Adventure! is not merely an opening theme, but an emotional gateway to Goku’s earliest adventures.

It is also worth recalling that Hiroki Takahashi’s place in the musical history of Dragon Ball is highly specific. While Dragon Ball Z is generally associated with Hironobu Kageyama and “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”, Takahashi embodies the first sonic identity of Dragon Ball on television. His connection with the franchise remains strong and continues to be celebrated, including at recent events where his performance of “Makafushigi Adventure!” continues to bring together an international audience.

Beyond nostalgia, the artist maintains a genuine international stage presence. His career includes performances in several countries, including France, Brazil, Peru and China, as well as regular appearances at animation events and themed Dragon Ball concerts. His stop in Casablanca is therefore part of a strong international career, driven by a body of work that continues to span generations.

For the Moroccan public and the event’s organizer, JAPAN ANIME MUSIC, this May 9 date has all the makings of a rare event: the chance to see a foundational voice on stage, an artist who represents not just a beloved hit song, but an entire era of Japanese animation. At the Eden Club, this concert should take the form of both a musical and emotional celebration, bringing together collective memory, otaku fervor and a tribute to one of the most enduring legacies of Dragon Ball.

It should be noted that the last time a Japanese artist took part in an anime event in Morocco was 13 years ago, with the appearance of the artist MIYAVI. Hiroki Takahashi’s arrival therefore represents not only a revival of Japanime culture in Morocco, but also the opening of a new chapter for Japanese concerts in the Kingdom, to the delight of the entire Moroccan anime community!
