After four years of waiting, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is finally preparing to make its grand return. Netflix has officially unveiled the first trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, a new animated series set in the world of the video game Cyberpunk 2077. This highly anticipated sequel will stream exclusively on the platform in fall 2026.

Produced in partnership with CD Projekt Red and the prestigious Japanese studio Trigger, this new season will not directly continue the story of the characters from the first series. Instead, it will take an independent approach with an entirely new cast, while retaining as its main setting Night City, a futuristic metropolis that is as fascinating as it is dangerous.

According to Netflix’s official description, this new story will take viewers into the darkest districts of Night City, where only the most ruthless manage to survive. The universe promises an atmosphere that is just as brutal as ever, marked by violence, the law of the strongest and the deadly consequences of the slightest misstep.

With this announcement, Netflix confirms its intention to continue exploring the Cyberpunk universe through animation. Following the critical and popular success of the first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, this sequel is one of the most anticipated anime projects of 2026 for fans of science fiction, dystopia and video game adaptations.
