After two years of waiting, Hunter x Hunter is finally set to resume publication in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. Yoshihiro Togashi’s cult manga, considered one of the pillars of modern shonen, will return with a new chapter announced for the end of June 2026 in Japan. This resumption marks a particularly anticipated moment for fans, especially since Chapter 410 was published on December 9, 2024, leaving the series on hiatus for nearly two years.
According to the first information reported about issue 30 of Weekly Shonen Jump, the official return should take shape with Chapter 411, scheduled for the magazine’s following issue. The current arc, centered on the royal succession war, should therefore resume with ever-growing tension surrounding Kurapika and his allies. The magazine also announces color pages to celebrate both the manga’s return and the upcoming release of a new volume.
Yoshihiro Togashi had already indicated on X that he had completed several new manuscripts, reaching as far as Chapter 421, with some set to feature color pages. This editorial announcement therefore confirms that the return of Hunter x Hunter will not be limited to a mere rumor, but is part of a concrete resumption of publication. Volume 39, titled Negotiation, is also expected in Japan on July 3, 2026, further underscoring the importance of this period for the franchise.
This return nevertheless remains closely linked to Togashi’s health, as his chronic back pain has significantly slowed his publication schedule over the years. The author has regularly thanked his readers for their patience, as well as his wife Naoko Takeuchi, creator of Sailor Moon, for her constant support. The new chapters of Hunter x Hunter will be available digitally through Viz Media and Manga Plus, while the 1999 and 2011 anime adaptations remain available on several streaming platforms, including Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu/Disney+.
