After several months of silence surrounding its future, Solo Leveling is back at the center of the anime news cycle with a first official release window for its third season. According to the 2024–2025 financial report published by D&C Media, the South Korean rights holder for the franchise, the next installment of the anime adaptation is now expected between 2027 and 2028.

This indication is the first concrete confirmation from Solo Leveling’s rights holders regarding the arrival of a third season. If it airs in 2027, the wait between Season 2 and this new batch of episodes would be approximately two years. A 2028 launch would extend that gap to nearly three years, marking a longer pause than the one observed between the first two seasons.

Crunchyroll has not yet officially confirmed the production or release window for Solo Leveling Season 3. However, Rahul Pirini, the platform’s president, recently hinted that the creators were actively working on the continuation. Several individuals connected to the production, including Atsushi Kaneko, had already kept fans waiting without being able to formally announce the anime’s next step.

The rapid pace of the previous releases partly explains the audience’s impatience. Season 1 began on January 7, 2024, followed by Season 2 on January 5, 2025, while the compilation film Solo Leveling: ReAwakening was released worldwide in December 2024. Despite its absence from the Anime of the Year category at the 2026 Anime Awards, the series won the awards for Best Animation and Best Action Anime, confirming its status as a major phenomenon.
