Four years after the shocking conclusion of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the tragic story of Lucy and David finally receives a new form of official conclusion. This previously unseen sequence arrives as part of a temporary collaborative event between Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Wuthering Waves, the open-world action RPG developed by Kuro Games. Launched during the summer, this collaboration brings several iconic Netflix anime characters back into the spotlight, including Lucy, David and Rebecca, through exclusive content designed for players and fans of the Cyberpunk universe.
The event, titled “Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Collab”, notably features an original animated scene centered on an emotional reunion between Lucy and David. Quickly praised by fans online, the sequence shows the two characters reliving their famous lunar Braindance in an alternate reality, offering a gentler interlude after the dramatic events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Bartosz Sztybor, the anime’s writer and producer, confirmed that this crossover story is canon to the series released on Netflix in 2022.
This collaboration, dubbed “The Dream Not Dreamed”, is already emerging as one of the summer’s highlights for the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners community. Beyond its emotional impact, the event also serves as a transition toward Anime Expo, where new information about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is expected. Available since June 8 and scheduled to run until July, this temporary operation could nevertheless see its end date change. Wuthering Waves players are therefore encouraged to follow the game’s official announcements so they do not miss any rewards or activities related to the event.
Another notable addition is the permanent arrival of the song “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” in Wuthering Waves following the 3.4 update. Performed by Rosa Walton and originally created for the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack, the track became the franchise’s definitive anthem after its memorable use in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Players can experience the collaboration on Windows, Android, iOS, macOS and PlayStation 5, while Wuthering Waves is also set to launch on Xbox Series X/S in July 2026, two years after its initial release.
