To celebrate 30 years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, the very first exhibition dedicated to Kazuki Takahashi’s original artwork will be held in Tokyo this winter. The event will be titled “Kazuki Takahashi Original Art Exhibition: YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS” and promises to showcase the visual legacy of a now-iconic franchise. The announcement, dated May 9, 2026, is already accompanied by an official launch: a dedicated website and an X account have gone live, along with a first teaser image.

This launch visual features Yugi Muto, the series’ iconic protagonist, alongside the Millennium Puzzle, a central object in the story and an instantly recognizable symbol for fans. It sets the tone for an exhibition focused as much on nostalgia as on discovering the creative process behind the work. As a reminder, Kazuki Takahashi’s original manga was published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004, totaling 38 volumes and surpassing 40 million copies sold worldwide, including digital editions.
Beyond the printed page, Yu-Gi-Oh! achieved global popularity through its trading card game, which became a lasting phenomenon and was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the best-selling trading card game in the world. The exhibition intends to capitalize on this appeal by featuring rare pieces: original pages, early design materials, character sketches, and monster designs. Exclusive merchandise will also be available on-site, with further information expected by the end of August.
For now, the event has only been announced for Tokyo, with no international dates confirmed. On the animation front, fans can (re)watch the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime adaptation (2000–2004), as well as the subsequent series, via Crunchyroll.
