The 1994 OVA You’re Under Arrest (Taiho Shichau zo) is returning in a new form: a high-definition Blu-ray edition scheduled for January 28, 2026. This animated series, created by manga artist Kousuke Fujishima, who is also known for Oh! My Goddess!, featured two unconventional police officers from the Bokuto Police Station. It followed Miyuki Kobayakawa, a mechanics enthusiast and expert in vehicle modifications, as well as Natsumi Tsujimoto, an impulsive and daredevil young woman always ready to put her partner’s creations to the test.

Several supporting characters surrounded the duo, bringing humor and lightheartedness to the series, including Yoriko Nikaidou, the switchboard operator whose line “eto… bleh” spread across the Western web and became a cult meme. The OVA blended action, comedy and moments of camaraderie, helping it remain in the memories of animation fans from the 1990s. Its high-definition reissue therefore gives fans an opportunity to rediscover this work with modernized visual quality while preserving its retro charm.

For now, the release has been announced only in Japan, but it is likely that the Blu-ray edition will include English subtitles, as is often the case with Asian releases intended for a broader audience. This will allow collectors and Japanese-speaking viewers alike to fully enjoy this restored version. While waiting for a potential international license on other streaming platforms, the physical edition remains the best option for reliving the energy and humor of this iconic series.
