The film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle: Akaza Sairai has made a historic debut in the United States. In just two days, it earned approximately $33 million, including more than $11 million from previews. This performance surpasses the previous record, held since 1999 by Pokémon: The First Movie, which had grossed $31 million. Ranked number one at the U.S. box office, the film also outperforms Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, whose combined revenue totaled $10 million upon its release in 2022.

At the same time, its international release is enjoying considerable success. Already screening in more than 3,000 theaters across the United States and Canada, including IMAX venues, the feature film is distributed by Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures and Aniplex. In Japan, the film attracted more than 22 million viewers and grossed over $213 million, making it the third-highest-grossing film in the history of Japanese cinema, behind Spirited Away and ahead of Titanic. Its growth rate is impressive: it reached the ¥30 billion mark in just 46 days, breaking the record set by Mugen Train.

In Morocco, the film will be screened from September 17 in several theaters across the kingdom, including the ATLAS Cinema in Rabat.

The phenomenon’s scale is not limited to the figures. The ufotable production features direction by Haruo Sotozaki and performances by iconic singers such as Aimer and LiSA on the soundtrack. The film, dubbed in English with Channing Tatum and Rebecca Wang among the voice cast, is slated for release in more than 150 countries worldwide, confirming the franchise’s international ambitions. With more than $315 million already accumulated worldwide, Infinity Castle is establishing itself as a genuine cultural and cinematic event.
