A new animated adaptation of Devil May Cry has unveiled an English-language clip at IGN Fan Fest 2025. The event also featured an interview with Adi Shankar, the series' creator, and Johnny Yong Bosch, Dante's English voice actor. The first season, written by Shankar and Alex Larsen (Yasuke), will be animated by Studio Mir and will consist of eight episodes. It will feature iconic characters such as Dante, Vergil and Lady. The soundtrack will notably include "Rollin'" by Limp Bizkit.

The project was announced in 2018, with the intention of incorporating it into a "bootleg multiverse", alongside Castlevania. This is not the saga's first adaptation: Madhouse had already produced a 12-episode series in 2007, distributed by ADV Films and later Funimation. More recently, Crunchyroll took over its distribution in 2017. At the same time, the franchise expanded into various formats, with novels, manga and stage plays, including the show Devil May Cry: The Live Hacker, performed in Tokyo in 2019.

On the video game side, the franchise remains a benchmark. Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC, was a major success, followed by a special edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2020. This new anime aims to offer a new dimension to the iconic universe of Capcom, rekindling fan enthusiasm ahead of a possible video game sequel. The series will premiere on April 3 and is expected to span several seasons, further strengthening the franchise's impact on pop culture.
