The Manga Afternoon is Morocco's largest convention dedicated to Japanese popular culture since 2010. It consists of one or more days of cultural gatherings dedicated to manga, video games, anime, cosplay, music (J-pop, J-rock, and traditional music), and young Moroccan artists and creators. It is also a meeting place for fans of Japanese culture and video games from Morocco and the Maghreb.
Despite the small number of visitors during the event's first editions, the Manga Afternoon established itself as THE anime and otaku EVENT in Morocco, making a major contribution to the expansion of cosplay culture in Morocco by organizing the country's first cosplay competitions and performances, as well as bringing together the largest number of cosplayers in the history of events in Morocco.
Thanks to its success, the Manga Afternoon took part in around ten partner events, ranging from organizing conferences to holding drawing competitions, video game tournaments, and anime reading and viewing workshops, with Moroccan and international partners such as: FNAC, Faber-Castell, RIOT, MOROCCO MALL, ELECTROPLANET, and the Institut Français, etc.
In 2025, the Manga Afternoon organized the first Moroccan qualifiers for the WORLD COSPLAY SUMMIT, which saw the participation of the first two Moroccan cosplayers in the final of the world's largest cosplay competition, in Nagoya, Japan, with the official support of the Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Also in 2025, the Manga Afternoon became the official organizer of the Moroccan qualifiers for the Extreme Cosplay Gathering scheduled to take place at Japan Expo, Europe's largest cosplay competition, whose final will be held in Paris in 2026.

After a brief hiatus, the Manga Afternoon events resumed during 2024–2025 with a major event held in collaboration with several companies and agencies, much to the delight of Moroccan fans.
